Trombone, Tuba, and Euphonium Lessons

Private Lessons in Low Brass

Kevin Robertson

Trombone, Tuba, and Euphoniun Lessons

Kevin played his first brass instrument when he was 10 years old, a trumpet. At the age of 16, he deserted to the “dark side” of brass and switched to tuba as his primary instrument. In college, euphonium (tenor tuba) became his greatest musical love. He also began playing trombone that same year. Whatever you call the instrument, low brass is his passion!

Kevin earned his Bachelors of Music in Music Education (Instrumental) K-12 in 1989 with euphonium as his primary instrument. As it turned out, the formal classroom was not in his immediate future… but … a 23-year career in the US Army Bands as a musician was! Throughout his military career, Kevin played his primary instruments (and a couple of guitars) as well as conducted, arranged, sang, marched, toe-tapped through more than a dozen countries. Whether concert, marching, jazz, salsa, rock and more … Kevin can play, arrange, and teach them all.

Since retiring from the US Army Band, Kevin has been conducting the Department of Washington American Legion Band, playing with the Olympia Chamber Orchestra (principal trombone), Polished Brass Quintet (trombone and euphonium), guest professor at South Puget Sound Community College and St. Martin’s University (conducting, low brass, and music theory).
