Ian has been playing music all his life starting with guitar, bass, and piano when he was young. Eventually transitioning to studying jazz drumming as well as classical percussion and marimba, rhythm and feel come naturally to Ian and that's a big focus in his teaching as well. Ian now focuses all that same energy on the banjo and would love to help you discover the beauty, rhythm, and soul of banjo music!
Ian teaches virtually as he is based in Southern Oregon, but he is well-versed in viritual learning as he learned the same way, and hey, you don't have to lug your banjo around!
